Avril Lavigne Head Above Water: LISTEN to new single clip about being 'close to DEATH'
The Canadian megastar is poised to release her first new music in several years, with this new track due for a full release on September 19.
Overnight she posted a clip of the track on social media, teasing its defiant lyrics.
“I’ve gotta keep the calm before the storm,” she sings, “I don’t want less, I don’t want more.
“Must bar the windows and the doors, to keep me safe, to keep me warm.”
“Thank you for waiting so patiently as I fought through and still continue to fight, the battle of my lifetime,” she said.
“The first song I am choosing to release is called Head Above Water. It is also the first song I wrote from my bed during one of the scariest moments of my life.
“I had accepted death and could feel my body shutting down. I felt like I was drowning. Like I was going under water and I just needed to come up for air.”
She added: “I have decided to be truthful about my struggle, open and more vulnerable than ever before.
“And to be honest, part of me doesn’t want to talk about being sick because I want it to all be behind me, but I know I have to. Because not only is it a part of my life, I need to bring awareness to the severity of Lyme Disease.
“A single bug bite can f**k you up hard. People aren’t aware that Lyme must be treated almost immediately.
“Often if they are aware, they go untreated simply because they can’t get a Lyme diagnosis! And even when they do get a diagnosis, a lot of times they simply can’t afford the treatment.
“Here. I now have a very strong, triumphant, powerful and true record to me and my experiences over the last few years.”
Lavigne’s last album was her self-titled record back in 2013, featuring the singles Here’s To Never Growing Up and Rock’N’Roll.
It peaked at No4 in Canada, no14 in the UK and no5 in the US.

Avengers 4.

So many heroes died and fans know that at least some of them need to return because they have their own movies lining up.

But there was also some key characters absent from Avengers 3, with some of their fates left unaswered.

Hawkeye is obviously the most prominent Avengers who expected to make a dramatic return in the sequel but a hugely popular new character was on board that Asgardian ship when Thanos attacked. Is she alive and is she part of major new scenes with Thor and even maybe Loki?

Joe Russo added: “Several Asgardians have escaped. I have gone on record saying Valkyrie has escaped with some of the Asgardians.”

Thompson was spotted filming scenes last year at Durham Cathedral with a Rocket Raccoon stand-in and Chris Hemsworth. There are even strong arguments that Loki intended Thanos to kill him so that he could get to Hel.

With Thompson's Valkyrie (kaaka Brunnhilde) potentially involved it raises the tatalising possibility of the armies of dead heroes of Asgard, including all her fallen fellow valkuries, riding back into glorious battle one last time.

See today's front and back pages, download the newspaper, order back issues and use the historic Daily Express newspaper archive.

ight at a park in Queens, a bicycle ride across the borough from where he grew up.

The 76-year-old singer picked Flushing Meadows Corona Park to say goodbye, an outdoor show on the first night of autumn. The setlist at recent stops has ranged from his first 1960s hit with ex-partner Art Garfunkel, "The Sound of Silence," to selections from a disc released weeks ago.

Simon isn't retiring, and hasn't ruled out occasional future performances. But he's said this is his last time out on the road, and he isn't alone among his peers; Elton John and Kiss are also doing goodbye swings.

A staple of the folk-rock scene with Garfunkel, Simon explored music from around the world as a solo artist, most notably "Graceland" and its African influences. His recent work has been his most musically challenging, and in his new disc he revisits overlooked songs from the past four decades. He's a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member for both stages of his career.

An often dour performer, Simon has been animated and talkative during the final shows. He seems eager for the freedom that awaits him, said Robert Hilburn, who wrote the biography "Paul Simon: A Life" that was released this spring.

"The thing that strikes me is that he's been happy, relieved," Hilburn said. "There's a burden off of him."

During an earlier show in Portland, Oregon, Simon playfully "penalized" himself for flubbing the lyrics to one song by singing an old Simon & Garfunkel hit he confessed to hating: "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)."

But everything can feel like 10 on the Richter scale if you make the headline big enough and salacious enough.”

In the interview, Aniston clarified that while her split from her ex was hard, she was not mourning the relationship.

"It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career,'” she said. “Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally.”

Similar to Aniston's feelings about the split, Theroux said that their breakup didn't leave him devastated.

“Neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other," he clarified. "It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.”

He continued, “It was heartbreaking only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.”

When Theroux was asked about his post-split dating life, the actor asked, “Is this the part where I coyly raise an eyebrow and not answer the question?”

At the time of the former couple's split, the actors released a joint statement that read, “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”

"She wishes the best for Justin," the insider said.
